About Me¤

My name is Yexiang Yan (闫业祥), and I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at McGill University, Canada, where I collaborate with Prof. Yazhou Xie.

My research focuses on structural resilience, seismic performance, and lifecycle risk assessment of civil infrastructure, with an emphasis on integrating computational mechanics and data-driven methods.

I received my Ph.D. in Bridge Engineering from Tongji University, and my M.S. and B.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University.

My research interests include:

  • seismic fragility analysis
  • uncertainty quantification
  • structural deterioration and aging effects
  • multi-hazard performance assessment

I also develop automated and intelligent frameworks for structural modeling, nonlinear analysis, and post-processing, leveraging surrogate modeling and machine learning techniques.

My work has been published in leading journals such as Reliability Engineering & System Safety, Engineering Structures, Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, Structures, and SoftwareX.

I am also passionate about developing open-source projects related to structural earthquake engineering. You can explore other projects here:
